Heather & Cory's True Valentine's Story

Heather's Story (and I'm sticking to it):

Imagine, while checking your e-mail you find one in your box from someone at the match making service with which you registared. When you open the e-mail the first thing you read is a scene description from the T.V. series "Mad About You" (that is for those of you familiar with the series), specifficaly the scene with the burnt down News Stand where they first met and a single Red Rose. Well, that is the thing that Cory sent in his very first e-mail and he had me intirgued from that moment on.

The e-mail arrived in my box February 16, 2000. We e-mailed each other for a while, during which time we found out that we were only 20 minutes apart. Phone numbers where exchanged and I called him first, we set up a time for a face to face meeting on February 24, 2000. We were pre-engaged less then two weeks later and recently married in September, 2002.

Cory's Story (and I wouldn't change a thing):

I have to be honest to the women out there, the guy's way of thinking is right. Although it may sound very analytical, finding the right person really is a numbers game. As you can tell from Heather's description, I'm a believer in true love and love at first site, but the more people you meet the more chance you'll meet the right person and, who knows, you may make several good friends along the way! Yes guys, I said the infamous "F" word, "Friends"; but it's not such a bad thing if you're smart enough to learn from them what women really want. That's why I set a limit for myself of all interesting women within 100 miles of home and then began building frienships with each of them.

Another thing guys, if you are not having much luck by saying things like "I'm looking for someone to hang with." or "I love to party.", you may want to try something a little more like this:

"Fade In...

On a woman standing alone in front of a burnt down newspaper stand. She first notices the loss and then, briefly, thinks of the losses in her own life. Somehow, though, she seems to sense that something, or rather someone, has always been missing and that things will not be quite right until she finds him. It is only then that she notices a single red Rose amidst the ashes of the old newspaper stand. She slowly, and gently, bends down to pick up the Rose when she hears a soft and gentle male voice behind her.

"Hello there." he says with a smile.

"Hi" she replies as a feeling of comfort and recognition washes through her.

They kiss gently; but passionately.

"Wow!" he exclaims. "Are you available?" he asks somewhat timidly.

"Let's go home." she says with restored feeling that they've known one another forever.

...Fade Out"

Most of all guys be honest because they will find out what you are really like when you meet in person. Oh, and if you think something like this is too mushy or melodramatic, we're proof that even a computer nerd like me can end up with a real "Hottie" like this:

Our Wedding Day 2.5 years after we met.
